AAA Physical Therapy cordially invites you to the FIRN event on Sunday, March 25th!

Just like last year FIRN Multicultural Event, we look forward to your participation again this year on Sunday March 25th from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM in the Howard Community College quad area. Please let us know if you can join us again this year.

Like last year there is NO fee for the tables. You are welcome to display anything that represents your country of origin or culture at the table. The objective of this fair is to showcase the diversity we have within Howard County. You are free to sell anything appropriate at the table, but request you to donate a portion of the sales to FIRN.

Due to the venue restrictions no sale or give away of any kind of food is allowed at the tables.

We will be providing the tables and chairs.

Please let us know if you can join us this year. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or comments.

    Greetings, COGS Members -

In partnership with the Howard County Office on Aging and Independence, we are reaching out to you to share a new opportunity to help educate and give back to our older adult citizens by creating a curriculum (courses taught by the experts in their fields - YOU!) to be offered through the county’s 50+ centers.

The goal is to harness your knowledge in your specialty and to share it with the community. Creating awareness of the many areas where people not only don’t know “best practices” but also “don’t know what they don’t know” is something to get excited about!

Please note: The focus is purely educational; “selling” is strictly forbidden.  If multiple providers from the same industry are willing to present, the format will be a panel.

If you are ready, willing and able to present such a class, please respond to COGS Administrator Becky Sieck, info@COGSMD.org, including your name, company, topic and contact information.  Further information will be shared as this initiative takes shape!

    Sincerely,

    COGS Executive Board

    Virtual Dementia Tour

Second Wind Dreams is a non profit organization founded in 1997. SWD has created the Virtual Dementia Tour Experience (VDT) and its mission is to change the perception of aging and create dementia friendly environments. The VDT simulates the effects of aging and dementia so anyone can personally experience the cognitive and physical challenges of dementia by " walking in their shoes." The VDT is evidenced based and it has been experienced by more than 2 million participants in 20 countries. Overall experience results in improved person centered care.

The link above is the VDT experience we will begin facilitating for our professional community, caregivers, aging community and families of loved ones battling Dementia and Alzheimer's. Please contact Jennifer Meredith, Home Care Consultant  to schedule a VDT experience with our care team. Once we confirm a date we can discuss logistics of the actual experience and plan accordingly.
