| Event: COGS Annual Partnership Awards Breakfast
Established in 1993, the COGS Partnership Award is presented annually to an organization and an individual who have made a significant contribution to the well-being of the older population in the state of Maryland. The award is bestowed upon an organization in recognition of a contribution made through partnership with other public or private organizations. The individual award recognizes a unique, significant or ongoing contribution made by one individual.
The recipients of this years Partnership Awards were presented on Wednesday, April 23rd, 2008 at the Howard County General Hospital Wellness Center to the following:
Individual:
Deborah L. Herman, CPA was nominated for her many hours of service to the Tax Aide Program for Seniors.
Organization:
Spotlight on Seniors for their cable television show, which informs, educates, and entertains. This show revolves around services and issues pertinent to Senior Citizens. The show is produced by a group of Senior Volunteers, who each spend 50 - 60 hours on one show.
The speaker for this event was Maggie Brown, President of the Columbia Association. She spoke about Partnerships.
